Question:

I have so many crane flies this spring. Why?

In Scottsdale AZ I have never noticed them before this year. They are on the walls all around our doors.

Answer:

Crane FLIES not cranes. The winter crane fly has an abundant hatch--well, during early spring or late winter. In this they are just everywhere--this species just does this sort of thing. Typically crane flies are a rather rare sight, such as during the summer months, usually of an entirely different species. There's really not much to explain their abundance.
cranes leave their habitat because the first reason was the climate , second its mating season and lastly scarcity of food in their habitat during winter .
