Question:

installing a shower door to a tile shower?

We are building a tile shower and we have gotten it framed the way we want it. We haven‘t installed the backerboard or tiles yet, just the studs are placed. Do we need to backerboard and tile the sides where the door will be, or can we install the shower door directly to the bare wood studs?

Answer:

Tile out even with the threshold. Your bull nosing (SBN) should come right down atop your sill so that every thing will line up. You then can drill w/ a masonry bit thru the tile or grout line and into the studding thats at the end of the sill. Any questions you can e mail me thru my avatar and check my qualifications GL
Okay. So when I was three, I got a hold of a permanent marker and took it to my parents' fridge. My mother grabbed a tube of toothpaste and a washcloth. She gently rubbed the toothpaste into the marker and it came right off. My niece did the same thing recently and I tried toothpaste. It worked. Then all you have to do is rinse it. But this might be a bit different because the plastic from the calculator may have soaked up the ink. Give toothpaste a try.
I'll make this a simple answer, tile first.
Tile first. Doors mount to tile. Make sure you put a nailer in where the hinges will go, so that you have something solid to screw into.
