Question:

insulation and vinyl siding draft issues?

I purchased a house and noticed quite a bit of a draft in the winterI remove the drywall and noticed that there was no wood, only foam board on the outside of the houseI replaced the insulation inside of the house with vapor barrier and new drywallI still noticed a draft.especially from the baseboard area.Could the lack of exterior plywood be the main issue? I'm considering replacing the siding as it's not that big of an areaI have new windows installed as wellI just want to ensure I'm not wasting my time or money by doing this before I tackle the projectIf I do thisBeyond putting wood and foam board underneath the siding, is there anything else I can do to help wind, cold from getting in the house?

The foam board should have all edges taped with a tape meant for that taskThere will be zero air infiltration if that is done correctly with a foam board 1 inch or greaterIt is more likely that your foam insulation isn't correctly sealed to the frame.
