Question:

Ionic vs. ceramic flat irons?

I‘m planning on straightening my hair and I already have ionic flat iron at home. Is it good enough or should i get a ceramic one? What‘s the main difference?

Answer:

I personally like the ceramic ones! I got the Karmin g3 salon pro flat iron and its really amazing it has ceramic and tourmaline plates so its much better!!
Ceramic Vs Ionic Flat Iron
Ionic hair care tools are intended to produce shine when used on your hair but ceramic hair care tools are meant to produce the end result (i.e.: straighten, curl, etc.) to the best effect. My hair is wavy and I like to straighten it and curl it sometimes, too. What I've come to realize works best is: to straighten wash your hair with a clarifying shampoo and conditioner (the best: pantene clarifying shampoo and conditioner), squeeze as much water out of it and wrap it in a towel and leave it in for about 15 mins., then undo and comb through with a wide comb, apply de-frizz serum or spray and comb through, then apply straightening creme and comb through, tie hair back and leave up for 15 mins so that everything gets to settle in. Dry hair thourouly with a large round brush with soft bristles. Once dry, section hair off and straighten with ceramic hair straightener in small sections at a time, leaving the top and bangs of your hair to do last. Once you've done everything but the top and bags, flip hair over and brush well if tangled, then take round brush and section hair from back to front to rounding each section forward as you use the cool air on your hair dryer on the section that you are doing. If you do it like this it will come out straight, all thoughout, and have body and lift and bounce all at the same time! See website for more info.
