Question:

Is aluminum a bad matiral for making body jewlery?

I have a septum piercing and I want to make my own eccentric jewelry for itMy local Joe-Anne's has aluminum jewelry wire in my gaugeIs this a bad material for a young piercing (6 weeks old) and will it cause irritation?

Answer:

Talk to your piercer on this oneMost people don't have much trouble with aluminum, but piercings can be sensitiveIt'll also depend on you-some people can wear anything, others can only wear the most nonallergenic metalsPersonally, I wouldn't use aluminum (at least for the bit that actually goes through the hole) because it's so softI'd constantly be worrying about it getting bent out of shape.
