Question:

Is amateur boxing dangerous?

I'm 15 and am eager to take advantage of boxing's cardiovascular benefits, although my parent's tell me that I have a good chance of getting badly crippled or suffering from brain damage. Are they right, or (at a young amateur level) is the sport safe?

Answer:

No. Something from nothing comes from the implications of the Uncertainty Principle. There is energy stored in the fabric of spacetime. Think of the analogy of gravity being the curvature of spacetime by mass. The rubber sheet of spacetime is under tension There is elastic energy stored in the stretched rubber sheet. Release some of the tension and you get radiation and particles. For a tiny fraction of a second the Laws of Thermodynamics are violated. Then Thermo takes over and restores balance.
maybe you can shut the main power off to the house from the breaker box, then after you have made sure that you do not have any power to anything go ahead and clean the affected area with a dry cloth. if you have any reservations about this, just contact your power company, they can probably help too.
