Question:

Is ceramic tile a good choice for a kitchen floor?

My husband wants to put ceramic tile in our kitchen and it really feels rough and hard to me. Is this a good idea for the kitchen floor, what if our child falls on it? It really feels rough to me. Please let me know. Thanks

Answer:

Ceramic Tile Kitchen Floor
I like sheet vinyl in the bathroom or ceramic tile and sheet vinyl or a laminate in the kitchen. I personally do not like ceramic in the kitchenhard on the feet and back if you spend any amount of time in there and is not forgiving if you happen to drop something. I don't like vinyl tiles in the bathroom as the water and moisture can seep in the seams lifting them. Your whole house flooring will dictate what is best for these two rooms. You might not get a lot of money back out of this reno, but might make a sale with a new floor, so be realistic in your choices and do not have the choices look out of place compared to the rest of the house.
My dad was disabled on the job because they failed with some of their safety measures. The steps on his equipment did not have the non slip material on it and his foot slipped and caught up in the step and broke it. He had to have surgery to have 8 pins put in so now he doesn't walk the same and has alot of pain but they demoted him and lowered his pay. He chose not to sue them but now I think he wishes he would have. He has not been put back in his old position and will not be unless he has an expensive surgery and pays his part of it in full and then recovers without the pay he would have if it he worked. So he got the crap end of the deal. So companies don't have to do anything.
I had ceramic tiles on my kitchen floor and hated them. for many reasons. The children were always slipping on them. I dropped a tin of beans and the tile cracked. Cold to stand on especially in the mornings. The dog would come in from the garden and slide across the floor. However they look lovely and are really easy to keep clean but given the choice I would never have them again.
