Question:

Is Ikea sofas good and comfortable?

in the catalog the cushons look look like a sofa to sit in and how is there fabric does it hold up after a lot of use

Answer:

Most Comfortable Ikea Sofa
Someone once told me that there are two things we should spend as much on as we can - a good bed/mattress and a sofa. At age 65+ I agree. These are two items where you get exactly what you pay for. I bought a sofa and loveseat for under $1000 and have regretted it every time I sit down. There is no back support and the spring system is so inadequate that the cushions sag. I am saving for a decent sofa. I figure one sofa, on sale, for about $1500 should do the trick. I once had a super, good quality sofa which I gave away only because it was way too long for the apartment I moved into. It was the most comfortable sofa I ever had and it cost me $1800. I had it reupholstered once. A good sofa is worth the cost of reupholstering. I've found that, for me, the most comfortable sofa has a straight back and one, long straight cushion to sit on. Your Ikea sofa will probably be okay for awhile but, unlike a high-end sofa, it won't last very long. Get what you can afford now and save for a really great sofa. And instead of getting a loveseat, get two really comfortable club chairs - you'll be glad you did.
I agree with Judith 100%. You get what you pay for. Ikea is not where I would go for a quality sofa that I expect to last for a long time. I don't really think it was made for years and years of comfort and durability. It is most likely worth what you are paying for it. I also agree with her about one single cushion, they are the most comfortable, and you can sit anywhere without sitting on a crack in the cushions. Look for something classic that won't go out of style in a couple years, and I would also stick with a solid fabric that you won't tire of, you can always jazz it up with prints on pillows, throws, in curtains and area rugs. I don't want to say Ikea has junk by any means, it is an affordable alternative for a tight budget, but won't give the years of use that a high end sofa will.

Ikea sofas are very popular with customers and they come in many styles and makes that will amaze you. When you need comfort in furniture, you ask yourself where you can get it at an affordable price and if you have heard of Ikea,This is because Ikea is an undisputed manufacturer and retailer of good sofas that will meet your every need. When you are getting a sofa, there are various things to consider and the first thing is the space the sofa is going to occupy. You need to have enough room before you bring your sofa of any size. The second vital thing is the design and style and many people go for a themed sofa or the one that brings out your homes personality. There are many other things to consider. I think it depends on the sofa you get. Mine is sort of modular and the frame has been absolutely fine for almost 5 years now, and I use it for sleepover guests.
