Question:

Is it hard to rebuild a carburetor on a motorcycle?

So I have been looking for a motorcycle for a long time. I found one on Craigslist for $ 300 . It‘s a 1980 Suzuki gs250t, everything works and it runs it just needs a new brake master cylinder, and the carbs need to be rebuilt is it a good deal? How hard is it to rebuild carbs?

Answer:

Contact a dealer and see if you can get a kit. Yes, it is pretty easy. The float could be bad too. The seams break and they can fill with gas.
The hardest part will probably be getting the parts for the carbs. Other than that, get a manual for the bike and clear instructions for the carb(s), and of course the proper tools. If you have mechanical aptitude, it's easy. Heck, for 300 bucks, you can at least learn all about motorcycles.
If you can find parts, they are dead simple to clean and rebuild. And the GS250 only has one so you don't have to repeat or synch the carbs. How do you know it works if the bike doesn't run?
