One day it'll be possible. Right now, the closest we can do (unless the military has something we don't know about, of course) is project an image onto lenses (think night vision goggles or virtual reality helmets for example) that is generated elsewhere. For example, a pocket-sized computer or dvd player that's connected either with a wire or wirelessly to the lenses...

Well, kind of. Military fighter pilots use something called a "heads up display" which displays various data either on the wind screen or in some cases on the visor of their helmet. There is also some potential use in automobiles (see attached link).

You can imagine that secret projects are waaay way waaaaaay beyond anything we can dream of. I saw a few days ago a site that shows a 8 GHz CPU, 2 TB memory, 10TB hard-disk, all in a space not more that a couple of cubic inches. So imagne they let us see that :)) Think about what they don't let us see.....
