Question:

Is it possible to deflect/redirect/negate/dissipate a (non-electro) magnetic field or force?

Is it possible to deflect/redirect/negate/dissipate a (non-electro) magnetic field or force? I am looking for a material or substance that can be used for the negation or deflection of magnetism. Would be nice if it were inexpensive and available for civilian purchase, but I still would like to know if something like this exists. Maybe an engineer or scientist will know :)

Answer:

The material mu-metal (an alloy of several metals) is commonly used for magnetic-shielding. E.g. see link,
