Question:

Is it possible to disrupt someones car alarm?

My grandmas car got broken into. Her car is parked like 6 feet away from her bedroom so if an alarm went off she would hear it. But the alarm didn‘t go off. I don‘t understand how it wouldn‘t go off. The only thing I can think of is that since you can wirelessly turn off a car alarm then there‘s some way to get onto the frequency that that alarm runs on and then just turned it off.

Answer:

Most car alarms are triggered by pressure movements inside a car or other vibrations. Basically if anything significant transfers weight inside of the car, the alarm will go off.
