I‘m not talking about magnetic shavings (iron fillings), I‘m talking about little flakes of magnetic material. For example, if you take a large rare earth magnet and shave flakes off of it, will each flake maintain its magnetic property?If they exist, how come no one sells them?
It should to a point because if u cut a magnet in half it will still have a N and S pol no mater how many times. I guess up to a point when it is so small it is undetectable.
The flakes are still magnetic, they just aren't very powerful. No one sells them because they are useless.
I would imagin they don't do it because afaik the magnitism would be tiny on a shaved piece of magnit it may not even seem magnetic anymore. If you try this please send me a message and tell me what happens please as I'd be interested to know for sure.
