Is it possible to join the Air Force and not be deployed for sure?

Answer:

No, there's not really a for sure. There's a lot of jobs in which you're less likely to get deployed, though.
af dep cycles are 4-6 months, usually at comfortable locations (vacations) i.e. guam, etc... your section will go for volunteers first, then fill in the billet with voluntolds. don't sweat it, nothing intense
if you join the reserve force you can turn down a deployment, however with the reg. force you're obligated to go wherever they tell you, as long as it's a lawful order.
NO!
Sure, be a office geek or sit in a missile silo in North Dakota.
