Question:

Is it safe to use a power inverter in a battery bank cupboard?

i have a battery bank cupboard and i wanted to put the inverter in there but the batterys give off gases and the inverter is electrics is it safe to pu them in there

Answer:

It would be safe, BUT you must remove the heat generated in that room, preferred method would be forced air. drilling a few holes about 6-8 inches below and door opening and above the floor and then placing a vent register such as used for heating in a home would help to dissipate the heat much quicker than straight force air.
Even if the batteries are sealed lead-acid, it will have to be forced-air ventilated or your inverter will cook to death.
