Question:

is it worth putting in aluminum pistons and leave the cast rods?

i am lookin at aluminum pistons for a 5 mge engineall total pistions and rods will run me 1800the pistons are 800 want to get the engine back together would it be worth doing just the pistons and not the rods? i will not be running boost for a while yet, i dont want to have to take it out 2 times when i could do it nowthoughts

Answer:

the cast rods are ok but they cant take the strain that the billet rods can .also there is a weight factor and a balance factor.buy the rods and pistons as a set.i understand there pricey.speed costs cash.the best is never cheap.do it right the first time.you asked the question on this forum.but you knew the answer before you wrote the question.
Asbestos has been banned for use in homes and other buildings (including schools) since 1989Not every piece of insulation is asbestos - what you saw in the school elevator is fibreglas insulationIts fine to be concerned, but if you are worried then you need to do some researchIf you want your house tested, the Ontario government may have resources to help youBeing so scared you can't live your life is not rationalNo, paint doesn't have asbestos in it - asbestos was only used for heat insulationIf you're worried about your cottage, get the insulation tested and replaced.
I think it is more than 10 years since they discovered that asbestos was dangerousThen, any known asbestos in buildings was removed.
