I think it will cost to buy Laptop than desktop, but Laptop saves lots of money on electricity, big laptops are cheap to buy, but it use lots of electricity, and you have to pay lots of cash on electricity.Most people use PC for long hours.
Without considering the factors of electricity usage, most desktop is cheaper than laptop and provide higher specification.

Nope, a laptop is more expensive because the technology is more compact. Also, the laptop is slower than an equally priced PC since the CPU needs to run cooler in the confined space. If your looking to play games, than get a Desktop. If not, than get a Laptop for the convenience and mobility. One more thing, make sure a laptop or Desktop exceeds minimal requirements to extend the PC's longevity or upgrade requirements.
For comparable performance a laptop will be more expensive than a desktop. Plus when things break or get outdated it's much easier to upgrade a desktop laptop upgrade mostly buy new laptop. Plus if you want to add disk space or a Blu-ray burner it's cheaper to do it to a desktop. You're right about power a laptop burns somewhere from 50 - 100 watts typically and a desktop can go up to 500 watts but typically is around 200 watts (with an LCD screen) when being used for ordinary stuff. So balance out the difference in cost of the hardware against the extra power used and a desktop probably costs much less extra a year to run compared to the extra cost of a laptop.
Laptops are by no means chapter than desktops. And also, if a laptop ever needs repair good luck with that. Desktops are so much easier to fix.
