Question:

Is microwaving potatoes in plastic dangerous?

I have heard that certain hormone disrupting chemicals can be released into the foods, like sweet or russet potatoes when wrapped in plastic?

Answer:

yea it totally depend on what kind of plastic...some plastics are safe even when heated, it should say something like safe for microwave use
Theres a problem if you microwave things in cling film/saran wrap but tupperware and plastic containers like that? i would say theyre fine
Don't wrap them in plastic. Plastic can impart chemicals into food. Unless the container is labeled safe for microwave use I wudn't do it.
plastic where heated, releases carcinogens which are none agents to cause cancer. its not recommended to heat plastic in any situation.
In a plastic bag...? Plastic wrap.? you need to give more info...............I don't see the need to wrap anything in plastic and put in the microwave..........
