Question:

Is my daughter ready for toddler bed?

She's 18 months old and she prefers to sleep on my bed than her own crib. Everytime I put her down in it, she cries. She loves to sleep on my bed. Is she ready for a toddler bed?

Answer:

i skipped the toddler bed and bought my 21 month old daughter a full size...i don't see the point in wasting money on a bunch of different beds....i didn't put it on a frame so she can climb in and out of it easily and she was so excited about her big girl bed and helping pick out her bedding!
I certainly have the transition crib additionally such as you have defined and my daughter is 27 months. i could positioned her in her very own room although and get a guard rail for the transition mattress or infant mattress, whichever you choose for. If she sleeps on the factor of you for all time, she's never going to wish to sleep in her very own room....basically get a nightlight or supply her her well-known animal or blanket together with her for secure practices.
She may very well be done with the whole idea of sleeping in a cage. You could see how a toddler bed works out; if you have any annoying issues that you don't feel like fighting over, you could push it up against your bed and use it as a type of extension so she still gets to sleep in your bed but still in her bed.
I agree with superme I did the same with my daughter too. She went straight to a regular twin bed but I bought her a pretty step stool and a guard rail so she wouldnt fall of and it worked fine for her. If she's one that rolls around a lot you might want to put the bed on the floor then. Now if you do get her own bed and she still gives you trouble it's because she's use to sleeping with you so you might want to try reading her to sleep and go through the routen of constently put her back to bed everytime she gets up until she gets the piont that she's not going back in mom's bed.
