Question:

Is Polyester the same as Polystyrene?

I‘m not very good recognizing things that are look very closely related to each other, like this one. I was checking what materials I should get something I‘m buying and I want it to be polyester, but only a few other things come up, one of them being polystyrene and now I‘m kind of confused if polystyrene is the same thing as polyester, could yuo help me out?

Answer:

No, they are both plastic polymers but they are different stuff. Polystyrene is commonly used in foam cups and insulation. Polyesters are a wide variety of plastic use or everything from fabric fibers to high grade lacquer finsishes.
I don't think they are the same. Chemically, I don't know if they are the same. I know polyester is used in cloth and polystyrene is more plastics and used to make toy models.
Leave it stock. The cold air intakes are a scam. They do not do anything except empty your pocket.
