Question:

Is riding a motorcycle kind of like riding a bike?

I play almost every sport and I might end up doing dirt bike racing soon because I am bored of he sports i play now and I kind of want a thrill now. Is riding a motorcycle like riding a bike. Later on I am planning on buying a sport bike.

Answer:

Riding a motorcycle is kind of like riding a very heavy bicycle. It can only really be compared to it when you're in neutral gliding down a hill. The risks of riding a motorcycle compared to riding a bike are basically the same, just the motorcycle's risks are at much higher speeds. I've raced motorcycles for a good amount of years and have also raced mountain bikes for quite some time now. They are vaguely similar in some aspects but far different in others. Your reaction time on a motorcycle must be precise and any mistake you make could cost you serious damage to yourself or your bike. I would suggest buying a 250cc bike to begin with if you do buy a sport bike. Also there's the side of shifting gears and all that stuff too. If you can drive a manual car you can drive a motorcycle. Motorcycle riding is a very fun and entertaining thrill, but don't take it lightheartedly. Ride safe!
Very similar, a motorcycle feels more stable and an engine to help you and much better brakes. The weight and speed is the down side. A light dirt bike is almost easier than riding a bicycle.
