Question:

Is the Bulldozer CPU from AMD any good?

I play Guild Wars 2 and Diablo 3 mainly and I feel as though my current CPU is bottle-necking my computer. Please don't tell me Intel is better as they are way too expensive for my budget.Anyone have a Bulldozer CPU and can tell me if it is any good? What about overclocking potential?

Answer:

For just gaming a nice Intel i5k (Sandy or Ivy Bridge) series processor is the best or for a budget an AMD Phenom x4 Quad cores. Any FX CPU is just not worth it and are quarky. Stay away
observing the specs of the recent fx series fx -8150 3.6 ghz with a swifter develop as much as 4.2 ghz till the intel ivy sandy bridge is launch ,observing the benchmarks the greater recent bulldozer series nevertheless fall decrease than the the intel i7 900 series, your motherboard will artwork with the fx- 8150 .the only element i admire approximately amd processors is they drop the charges to compete with intel wherein intel will infrequently do ,looking back on the phenomll 800-900 series carry out properly into gaming , looking forward the recent fx series will do much greater perfect it particularly is properly certainly worth the purchase.
I have used a Bulldozer processor in the past and they actually seemed to be quite powerful. I suggest getting an AMD FX 4170 or maybe an AMD FX 6100 if it is in your budget. Then the AMD FX series processors are amazing for overclocking, they automatically overclock when the system is at a high load to increase performance. But Bulldozer processors are very good for overclocking anyway, I got mine to 4.2 Ghz stable :D
Bulldozer CPUs are very good for overclocking and are relatively cheap too, but most people agree that Intel is better overall. I have used AMD all my life so I can't really comment (in fact I have a Bulldozer myself), but I am saying it so you are aware. If you are building a new computer you can check out the below article; it helped me a lot when I was building mine.
AMD Bulldozers are massively overclockable. I have a gaming build in progress with one. Try and get the FX 8150 if it's in your budget.
