Question:

Is the Sausage Ball Mix Bad?

I made sausage balls for thanksgiving which was a week ago yesterday, i had some mix leftover and i was wondering if i could use it to make more sausage balls today, i had it in a bowl covered with aluminum foil in the refrigeratorthe mix is browner than it was just a week ago, and i don't know if this would mean they are bad.can i make sausage balls again with this mix?

Answer:

you could scrub the pie plate with some SOS first dry it properly and then cover the pie plate with foil or you could just go out to the dollar store and purchase foil pie plates.
Meat begins to turn brown as it oxidizes and looses moistureThat doesn't mean it's gone badCheck to see if it is growing moldIf it has not, and assuming it's been kept covered and refrigerated properly, you can use itJust be sure that it is cooked thoroughly to a temperature of 160 degrees and you'll be fine.
