Question:

Is there a word that quantitatively encompasses transparency and reflection of a material?

ie. Something that describes how transparent or reflective a surface or material is. Ie i could say that something is 50% transparent or that it's 50% reflective, but is there a word that would allow both qualities to be expressed using the one word?

Answer:

no, we can tell what they are and differntiate them from evidence
there are actually different kinds of fire extinguishers because there are different kinds of fires and ways to put them out. for example you would not want to dump water on a grease fire because oil and water do not mix and it would just cause the burning grease to spread! some chemical means extinguish the fire by suffocating it, as fire needs oxygen to breathe so many combinations yield an excess of CO2 at the expense of O2 and so that is a popular method, especially in computer labs/electrical fires. you really need to do you own research. get on google man, or read a book!
