Question:

Is there any way to remove the color or dye yarn a different color?

The yarn I have is BlackIt's Red Heart acrylicI know you can dye yarn a different color using look aidI figured if I wanted to try that then I would have to remove the black color so the dyed color would show up betterIs there any way I could do that?

Answer:

You would need for it to be metal, I thinkI would think that a metal can would be easier to find than a giant satellite dish.
The only time I have heard of a cantenna, it was a brand name of 50 ohm resistive load configured coaxial and connected to an SO-239 mounted in the center of the lid of a paint canWhen it arrived you were supposed to fill the can with mineral oil to help with heat dissipation and increase the power ratingMetal is the preferred material to contain stray radiation and dissipate heatI don't know what you are attempting, but a coffee can or empty paint can (available at hardware stores) might be the best place to start Depending upon the frequency of the RF in your experiment, you may be able to use standard resistors for a load, but anything in the UHF or higher range is best handled by a commercially available coaxial resistor with heat finsThe manufacturer will supply specifications OR if your cantenna is an antenna and you are using the dish to increase gain, then the size of the can is dependent upon the frequencyYou may research microwave waveguides to obtain the correct formulas to help you select a canIf you have problems with that you could ask more questions here.
SorryDyeing yarn with KoolAid does not work on acrylicsIt isn't really a good dye anyway, even on natural fibersBlack acrylic yarn is black to stayDo you know anyone else who crafts with yarn? Maybe you two could trade.
