Question:

Is there really any truth to Pascal's Wager?

According to Pascal's Wager, it is safer to believe in god because there would be no consequences if it turns out that he isn't real. But is this really true? If you focus your entire life around a supreme being, and it turns out that that supreme being isn't even real, have you really lost nothing? The truth is, you've lost EVERYTHING. You've wasted your entire life praising and worshiping something that doesn't exist.Granted, this isn't a good enough reason to become an atheist. You should be an atheist because God isn't real, not because atheism allows you to sleep in on Sundays.I guess what I'm trying to get across is this: Is Pascal's Wager any good? Is it really safer to believe in God, just in case?

Besides the benefit of preventing leaks, teflon tape makes the joint easier to get apart later, unlike thread dope which can make the joint even more stubborn. For a shower head that is a pretty big advantage down the road.
