Question:

John Steinbeck and Stephen Crane?

Between these two authors, I dont see any similarities in literary style, specifically focusing on The Moon is Down and The Red Badge of Courage. Maybe observing from a different point of view (yours) could help me.Also, if there is no significant similarity, do similarities exist in setting, conflict, or characters instead? Thanks!

Answer:

Try Maggie: A girl of the streets, which is the novel I think of for Crane being part of the Realist school. I think you can also see Steinbeck, in his selection of subjects as being in that same school of fiction. So less for their style and more for their choice of subjects.
