Question:

Know any fun chemical reacions that use things from around the house?

Like baking soda and vinegar

Answer:

I personally wouldn't shoot +P in a lightweight wheelgunThen again, I wouldn't carry a wheelgun to begin with.
Magnesium?? Are you sure?? Perhaps Titanium? If so- Bad buyTaurus no longer orders parts for exotic alloys- they are just too expensive.if any part breaks.you will not be able to replace it.and warranty will not cover a discontinued part.
Don't know about this weapon but I have made expansion joints and rail crossing out of magnesium and this metal compares favorably with aluminum.
Magnesium and Aluminum are what you could call twin metalsThey both have the same melting point, 1,200F, but Magnesium is 1/3 the weight and strongerI have heard of Titanium frame revolvers, which are also super light, but never Aluminum or MagnesiumPure Aluminum is so soft you can whittle it like woodNow of course they are using alloys of these metals, but still many people are leery of how long they will last with heavy useAlso does it not say on the ammo box to use +P ammo in modern guns in good condition, rated for +p pressures? I don't think they would recommend it for light weight alloy gunsSomeone should fire say, 5,000 rounds through these lightweights and then see how much wear there is.
Take some sodium or potassium hydroxide (found in drain cleaner) and pour a bit in a cup of waterThen make some nicks in aluminum foil and quickly drop it into the solution, the aluminum will fizz.
