Between those two, Dell is my vote
Dell, Very safe, Reliable, And well built
lenovo will give you better support (US based) if you need it. Dell will give you slower and offsore support unless you want to pay a premium to talk to US support. dell may be more reasonably priced and would be a casual style laptop, whereas lenovo will be a more of a business class style. I would recommend lenovo if you don't plan to do much gaming. any thinkpad will be a sturdy machine you can take with you anywhere, but as i've stated won't be much of a gaming machine. if you plan on gaming I would suggest ASUS. good luck.
Dell! Better customer service than any other companies. Good brand, have been around for a long time. Make very powerful computer/laptops I have a dell laptop for 5 years now and no problem whatsoever
