Chimei CMV 946D model just went blank during use. Can you point me to a DIY troubleshooting site?
Couple simple checks. Is light on monitor solid? If flashing or amber (or some other goofy color not seen during normal operation when it worked) means it has some sort of issue inside or is NOT receiving video signal. So computer on, monitor light solid put flashlight near screen to see if you can see login or desktop icons. If you can this means your backlight went bad. Would be cheaper to buy new monitor if is the case. Try monitor on another known to be good computer. Or try another monitor. This will isolate if its your monitor or video source. I have a feeling you may find out its the backlight as they do go bad. A critical indication is the screen will have pinkish/red tint when first starting then clear up.
There are two reasons why your LCD monitor goes blank: (1) incompatible display driver software (possibly part of your OS or graphic card), or (2) a failing backlight bulb or power supply board, which means it's a hardware problem. Unplug the means from the demonstrate screen itself and plug it in solidly 2 or 3 cases. i understand it sounds stupid once you've already got a means mild , yet I easily have done this many cases and the demonstrate screen might want to educate a image. next, make positive the demonstrate screen is became on and restart the computer. some liquid crystal demonstrate video demonstrate contraptions are humorous about being acknowledged and not using a reboot. wish this facilitates.
