Question:

lemon or lime?

what is the difference? is there a difference?

Answer:

Personally, I push the lime into the bottle, then cover it with my palm (people with larger hands can use their thumbs) and flip it upside down. The lime will fizz a lot and the pressure will build, so be careful when you turn the bottle upright again. I find that the lime flavor saturates the beer better this way.
You wipe the rim of the bottle neck with it, then throw it out. Legions of the tragically low class and ignorant have been stuffing limes and lemons into their beers since the 80s. Never once did they stop to acknowledge where the lime tradition comes from: Sanitary conditions in Mexico are generally marginal, at best, particularly when compared to standards in the U.S. In Mexico, the ascorbic acid in the lime is the whole reason for it being in your bottle neck! You use it to clean and disinfect the bottle's rim before you put it to your lips. Cramming the dirty lime wedge into your beer afterward is not only moronic but, in fact, defeats the whole purpose.
The ideal way to drink Corona is to put a lemon wedge inside the bottle and drink it.There is no point squeezing it,after all lime has got nothing to do with Corona,It's just an old Mexican tradition which people like to follow. Thanks
I take a small wedge, push it around the edge of the bottle to squeeze the juice into the bottle, then put the used wedge in the bottle. I find if you just try to squeeze the juice in and discard the wedge the beer doesn't get enough lime flavor and citric bite. EDIT I think lemon is for Weisse (wheat) beers, definitely not Coronas.
The one user from Mexico has an interesting answer, one that I was not aware of. I would suggest voting his answer as the best. His version was Mexican, and mine will be American. Coronas are served with a lime wedge at most restaurants and bars. Typically, people squeeze the juice into a bottle or a glass and throw the lime in there. I always thought it was to kill the taste of the beer.
