Wy does light travel faster than sound?

Answer:

bcz the light almost dont have wavelenght , is faster. the wavelenght of the sound is big, so it takes more time for the sound to travel. is like you are in a car in a expressway, you get fast bcz you are in a line. if you travel in a rural area it will take you more time bcz you will take courves
light is an electromagnetic wave, sound is a mechanical wave. the velocity of sound wave depends on the elasticity of the medium and its density.Light can travel through vaccum.
Velocity = wave lenght * frequency light have high frequency and small wave lenght. the light wave has huge energy and so high freq. according to Max Plank's rule E=hf. where h=6.33*10^-34 j/s. the multiply of both f and w.l gives us 3*10^8 m/s while sound wave has higher w.l that light but very low frequency compared with light giving us 340m/s
Light travels by radiation, while sound travels by waves through a medium, so for you to hear something, the source of the sound moved the molecules of the air (on this example), those molecules moved the ones that were besides them and so on until it gets to you. Light doesn't work this way, it travels by radiation (fotons).
