We just got a new apartment and the lighting is horrible. The light bulbs give off a yellow lighting and it really makes the room look really horrid. The lighting also hurts our eyes. What is the best light bulbs that is close to quot;natural lightquot; and is calming to the eyes and lights up the room properly.
I just installed one in a lamp and am having the same complaint. My old GE soft white lights gave a much better light tone and yet the package says it is a soft white mini twister. I also do not believe it gives the same amount of light as the 100w bulb as claimed.
I'm not sure about the light bulbs but check and see that the color schemes,and the light shades, in the apartment aren't having an effect. eg; different colors reflect different lighting.
Different makes of the spiral lights give off different tones. Some are a harsh white, others are a softer yellow. Try different makers till you find the tone you like. If you want to go back to regular bulbs, go for a full spectrum bulb.
There is such a thing as a reveal light bulb. It will actually be the same light as daylight. I am not sure who makes it but quilters and sewers use it because when matching a thread to the fabric, it shows the true colors. Buy one and try it in different areas. That way you can decide if that is a light bulb you would like to use. You are paying the light bill, no one else.
