Question:

Light Travel and Stars?

I am a bit confused. I am reading about the speed of light, which is the speed ligt travels in a year, about 6 trillion miles. Which got me thinking. I am wondering why, after a star's light reaches us, why the light is still present. If the star, which is gone or longer exists, cannot emit light, then after the light reaches us, why is the light from that star still present? If I have a flash light, ad shine it from space, and it takes two years to rach earth, and my flashight dies, how can the ligt still emit? Long after the source is gone?

Answer:

There is the possibility of being able to move out and break your contract. As it stands, you are in an unsafe living environment, and your landlord is not doing the things required. If you need to move, that is an option. Otherwise, You should press the test button yourself before continuing. having bare wires exposed, should not effect you if you just press the test button. Once tested, if it does not work, then calling the fire department, and finding out what you can do through them, would be helpful. Fire Departments deal with issues such as this all the time, and they would be a resource for you. Good Luck
