Question:

Lights dont work on my 1982 motorcycle - whats up?

The battery is fine, the brake light works, the horn operates, but no front or back lights. The motorcycle does not have a start button as it is a kickstart and the lights are manually operated. I took the lights apart and they don‘t appear blown (and surely the back light can‘t be blown as it still lights as a brake light). What is wrong? Could a blown front light bulb prevent operation of the back light due to it being on the same circuit? Just wondering whether it is worth replacing the front bulbs before taking the damn thing apart. Please note: the motorbike does not have a Park function or anything like that. It was built in 1982.

Answer:

Seeing as you did not include the make of the motorcycle, I will assume it still has a fuse box . Usually under the seat, and at that age , you could have corrosion. Turn on your key , and with a test lamp check your fuses
