Question:

locked up honda motorcycle?

hello 9i have an older honda motorcycle and it runs but has been sitting for awhile. the back tire seems to be locked up, any ideas how to get it to roll?

Answer:

If it has a drum brake i would start looking there. Put it on center stand and loosen adjuster nut, then twist and roll the wheel.
Pads stuck to the disc, or shoes stuck to the inside of the drum. Get a rubber mallet and give the calliper or drum plate a couple of good smacks, that should be enough of a shock to break the two surfaces apart. If that does not work its going to need a full brake strip down .
The right way is actually to remove the rear wheel and check the brakes. I would also remove the rear wheel seals and pull the bearings. If not changing them out completely, I would clean and repack them and replace the seals. Also, check the front. Be safe!
