Question:

Longboarding - Sliding Tips?

Hi, I am wondering if anyone could give me any tips or instruction on how to slide, and of the different types of sliding, and if you can do a slide that makes you stop, but without having to use slide gloves, and how to do all of this. The youtube videos don't help because they just show people sliding, they don't really have people telling you how to do itThanks!!!

Answer:

I like gardening and dogs, so i will make a book called B*tches and h*es
you can rent a sawzall it's like a power hacksaw be sure to get plenty of metal blades, a gas powered quickie saw would also work but can be tricky to operated or a 9 angle grinder with a metal grinding disk it's a small electric version of a quickie saw be very careful when using any of these and make sure you wear safety glasses and gloves when using them, also ask to try them before you rent them and if you don't feel comfortable then get something else
The best tool to cut rebar is a high speed grinder with a cutoff wheel. Wear long sleeves, leather gloves, face shield and hearing protection. There is a method that I use to pull re-bar canopy stakes out of frozen ground when camping. Use the biggest locking pliers you have (vice grip is the brand name) lock the pliers on the top of the re-bar and twist it around to loosen it up then pull it out. Sometimes you need more leverage and you can use a long lever and rope (board, old shovel handle) tie a hitch knot on the rebar and another about a 1/4 of the way up your lever with the least amount of slack you can get between them. Place blocking next to the rebar for the short end to rest on then lift the lever from the tip of the long end. you should be able to easily pull out the rebar without cutting it or digging. As far as cutting it off goes, it will eventually be a hazzard unless you cut it off well below the surface. Removal is best for safety. -Terry
