Question:

Looking for a material that is light, transparent, and has a slight magnetic charge, any suggestions?

I’m trying to make a small magnet with a clear material either some sort of plastic or other type of composite material that’s light, flexible, and transparent. This magnet must be able to attract iron fillings. Possibly a kind of plastic with copper wires running through it, connected to a battery and when the circuit is switched on the plastic surrounding the wires becomes slightly magnetically charged and when the current is switched off the plastic looses its magnetic charge. What transparent, flexible materials can become electromagnets?

Answer:

Transparent Aluminum, but will Mankind ever stop warring enough to invent it.
An ultra-light transparent magnetic material made of a silica aerogel combined with extremely fine magnetic particles composed of neodymium, iron,
