low fat fried cheese?

does anyone have a lower fat recipe for mock fried cheese? i made some in high school home ec about 10 years ago that were coated with seasoned bread crumbs, and baked and they were deliciousfried cheese is the main thing i have been craving during pregnancy and i would rather have a smarter choice to revert to during the next 6 monthsthanks for any ideas!

When I make these, I use italian breadcrumbs so I dont need the italian seasoning and garlic powder, wholewheat flour for the first coating and olive oil spray instead of butter when baking Baked Mozzarella Sticks 8 ounces mozzarella cheese (a block of cheese) 3 tablespoons flour 2 eggs 1 tablespoon water 1 cup dry breadcrumbs 2 teaspoons italian seasoning 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder 4 teaspoons melted butter Cut cheese in 1/2 x 1/2 x 3 sticksToss with flour and set asideIn small bowl, beat together eggs and water and set asideIn separate bowl, combine bread crumbs, italian seasoning and garlic powderDip sticks in egg mixture, then coat with crumbsRepeat this processPlace on a plate in a single layer, cover with foil and chill for 2 hoursPreheat oven to 400 degreesPlace cheese sticks on an aluminum foil lined baking sheet and drizzle with melted butterBake until crisp, about 8 to 10 minutesHeat a little spaghetti sauce to use for dipping.
