Question:

magnaflow catback exhaust + cold air intake?

So, based on my last question decided people were right and im not getting a turbo for my 2006 honda civic lx coupe, but i still want to tune it a bit so i was thinking of getting the magnaflow cat back exhaust system, high flow cat, and a cold air intake and calling that good for modifying it. My question is does anyone know the decibel rating of the exhaust system cause i dont want to get a ticket for being too loud

Answer:

You can buy a spout that slides over copper pipe. It has a rubber o ring that seals it and also a screw that tightens it to the pipe from the underside. You don't thread copper pipe. You can add by sweat soldering a coupler apiece of pipe and a male threaded end. You can cut copper with an inexpensive tubing cutter
For the best answers, search on this site shorturl.im/d0ZIF Suave, If you're simply trying to make a connection between pvc pipe and a threaded copper fitting, the part you need is called a: PVC, MIPxS fitting. (That is a: male iron pipe x slip) fitting in whatever size you need. Good luck. Just go to a hardware store tell the guy that. He'll know what you want. You'll also need some pvc glue to connect the slip end to the pvc pipe.
Honestly, you're not going to see a difference from this. On paper you can argue percentages all you like, but in actual practice the cost-to-joy ratio is not going to be what you're hoping to see. Unless you just like the noisy exhaust - if that's the case, just get the noisy muffler and call it done. For your actual question, I'm afraid that I have no idea.
Don't bother, you're not going to get any noticeable power gains from that. The most you'll see is 5-10 whp, and is that really worth the hundreds of dollars for the new exhaust and intake? Just keep it stock and enjoy the car, and if you want to go fast, spend the money on another car, rather than the parts for the civic.
Cat back exhaust and a high flow intake is a good upgrade for your car and will still keep it reliable. Check your local laws regarding the modifications. Here in California, any intake has to have a CARB E.O. Number to be legal. Noise laws will vary too, but if you go with the Magnaflow cat-back system unmodified you should be fine with exhaust noise as far as legality. You won't notice a huge performance difference, but it will be a nice increase, not to mention a little more aggressive sound when you step on the skinny pedal! Good luck!
