Question:

Magnetic Anomaly?

What is the sign of the magnetic anomaly of an igneous rock at the equator during normal geomagnetic polarity? Does the sign of the anomaly depend on the latitude? Why?

Answer:

Magnetic anomaly are strips of magnetic material on the earth crust and in the ocean floor. Magnetic anomaly doesn't really have an average magnetic component because it's always changing. Magnetic anomaly is found at lower latitude where ventilation is exposed. Volcanoes and at ocean ridges where volcanic activity is located is where magnetic anomalies where be located.
