Question:

Magnets/magnetic fields help?

Could anyone please help me out with these couple of true or false questions? I am pretty sure I know most of them, but they can be confusing. :(1. The magnetic field lines are defined as beginning on N poles and ending on S poles.2. Like poles attract each other and unlike poles repel.3. When a bar magnet is cut in half, one half becomes a N pole and the other half becomes a separate S pole.4. Compass needles are made of paramagnetic material.5. Magnetic field lines always form closed loops.6. Earth North magnetic pole and North geographic pole are different.

Answer:

1. True 2. False 3. True 4. False 5. True 6. True I think my answers are correct
Nothing eliminates smoking, it can be reduced by using 20w50 motor oil plus an additive like lucas or cheaper yet STP.
try lucas oil after performing an engine flush and complete oil change keep in mind that lucas oil is1 quart so use 1 quart lucas oil and remainder standard motor oil.If you have high mileage try a heavier oil lick slick 50 along with lucas oil.
Like poles repel opposites attract and if a bar mag is cut in half yes one side will be north and the other south sorry it's been a while so that's all I got lol :)
1. True as the North pole represents positive charge and South negative, and since conventional electromagnetism are defined in the way a positive charge would move, field lines begin at North Poles and end at South Poles 2. False As 2 positive or negative charges repel, 2 equal poles would repel each other 3. False, For all practicallity when a magnet is cut in half, the two pieces instantly become identical 2 pole magnets (as in both have a north and south pole), 1 pole magnets are theoretically possible but as of now none have been discovered (this is true spiliting down to protons and electrons) 4. True, as a compass points towards the North Magnetic Pole, it by logic would have to be paramagnetic 5. True, basic definition of magnets 6. True, Earth's North magnetic pole is slightly differnent from the True North or North Geographic Pole (North Geographic pole is defined as place where Earth's axis of rotation meets the surface at 90 degrees North)
