Question:

Metal Oxide, Acidic or Alkali?

Are Metal Oxides (MgO, etc.) Acidic or alkali. And what bought metal hydroxides (KOH)

Answer:

Metals are weak on holding their electrons so in reactions they tend to lose them to non metals and form ionic compounds in which they are positively charged and the non metal negatively charged. There is the reactivity series of metals and any metal higher than another will displace it from its compounds, reactivity decreases from top to bottom.
