Question:

Motorcycle street legal requirements?

I am just trying to find different state‘s requirements on making an off-road motorcycle street legal. Such as: Headlights, blinkers, brake light etc. Does anyone know of a state to state requirements site? I can‘t find one anywhere, not even the DMV website. I am probably missing it.

Answer:

It is mostly just for looks but it can make it sound slightly louder.if you want to make your car/truck sound louder go with a cherrybomb or a magnaflow muffler, be careful though, police dont like it
In most states, if a motorcycle comes from the factory designated as Off Road Use Only, it can not be made street legal. Contact your local DMV and ask if it is even possible to make an off road bike street legal before you invest the time and money. You wouldn't want to spend a couple hundred dollars on parts for your bike only to find out that the DMV will not issue a plate for it. Even if you can make the bike street legal in your state, you may find the alterations will cost more than what it is worth. Sell the bike and use the money from the sale to purchase a dual sport bike that will work both on and off road.
Street Legal Motorcycle Requirements
I can save you a whole lot of trouble. You can not make an off road only motorcycle street legal. It does not matter what equipment you add to the bike, it will still be an off road only motorcycle. DMV will NOT give tags for an off road only motorcycle.
