Question:

Moving to Canada, I want to cahnge my occupation to become a motorcycle mechanic, is this hard?

Hi there, I might be moving to Canada, south Ontario. And I want to change my occupation when I get there, currently I work as a chef, but work part time in a motorcycle shop, doing junior tasks, such as servicing, tyres and brakes. I have found that I love being in the bike shop and want to make this my full time job.So is it easy to get a job with no qualifications?I hear that I need to be licenced?I have no formal qualifications, in this trade, but would be willing to go to night school. I live in the UK at the moment and may move over there in three or four months. Thanks for your help

Answer:

I'm not familiar with the steps necessary for you to become a motorcycle mechanic. I would imagine you would need to go to school and become licensed to do so. Please keep in mind that you cannot show up at the border and try to move though. You would need to have a legal way to move to Canada or you will be turned away at the border. You can go over the different immigration routes and see if you qualify for any of them. www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/i. Good luck!
