The oil is going somewhere, either from leaking gaskets/seals or through the engine from burning it and the smoke from the tail pipe would tell you quickly. In either case, that is considered a lot of oil useage.have a shop find the reason, then determine if the repair cost is better than considering another vehicle.
if you're changing oil every 3000 miles, it would be better to find the leak if there is no smoke. If there is smoke, try the additive. if you're changing every 10,000, just keep oil in it.
Hi I think it is valve seals. On deceleration you cant see any smoke so get a friend to follow you down a hill to see what they see. If there is smoke you can get the seals replaced. If your plugs are fowling get the job done. If not don't worry about it. Take care!
