Question:

My acoustic guitar string holder peg thing broke in half! What do I do?

I have a Taylor Big Baby and I was tuning it from standard baritone guitar tuning to standard tuning and the G-string snappedSo I tried to pull the peg holding the string in (on the bridge) out by hand and couldn't get itSo then I tried using an object to pry it out and it snapped in halfNow half of the peg is stuck in there! How should I go about getting it out? I hope someone has an answer soon, I'm gonna go crazy if I can't play!!!

Answer:

if you've seen those fiber products well they contain 10%-80%
prunes! fiber makes it easer to poop.
They are called bridge pins and are available at just about any music store and cost about a dollar each for good onesThe proper way to remove them is to use a string winder toolOn the cup of the string winder (the part the slips over the tuning machine head) there is a small, half moon shaped notch cut in the side of itUse that little notch to gently lift the pin outA string winder is an indispensable tool for the guitarist and only costs a few bucksJust so you know, going from such a radically low tuning like baritone to standard tuning on an acoustic is not such a great ideaAcoustic guitars are much more prone to neck warpage than an electricNot to mention the change in tension on the bridge and topI strongly suggest keeping such a nice guitar in standard tuning and getting a baritone for that usage specifically
