Question:

My Brake Lights Wont Turn On?

I have a 99 OLDS Alero and the problem is as followsWhen I step on the brake peddle the braking lights on the passenger side wont light up while the middle and driver side lights would light up. The regular lights that are on them still work, all three of them, but only when I step on the brakes nothing happens. (it does not brighten up).It cant be a problem with the lights because they still work. I dont know if it is a Wiring or Fuse problem. Any suggestions to why it is doing that? and any steps to how to fix that problem? Thanks

Answer:

buy a bulb. if it still doesn't work, it is a fuse
what kind of automobile? on maximum imports there's a brake easy change grommet over the years it falls out of it holder and could reason the brake easy to stay to tell the story. look on the drivers area floor you're able to discover the grommet. The grommet keeps the brake lights furnishings off once you press the brakes the grommet is moved removed from the brake easy change and the lights furnishings illuminate interior the back. observe: the brake easy change is often placed up at the back of the brake pedal shaft.

the brake light bulbs use dual filaments one lights up for running lights and then the other lights up for brake lights (thats why it gets brighter) if a fuse was bad all the brake lights would not work. i would pull out the bulb and switch it with a known good from the other side, if it lights up then buy a bulb and replace the bad one.
You have a Burnt out Fuse. Check the Fuse box.
