Question:

My car alarm and hot weather?

I have recently Brought an Opel Astra van. the previous owner installed a security system by viper model number 5000 or 5002 i think. today is a really hot day and my alarm has been going off just wondering if the reason is the heat I.E. car alarms prone to go off in heat. now i have had the car for a month and it hasn‘t done it before but recently one of my friends noticed if you hold in the LOCK button it triggers the alarm hopefully that has not caused it hope you can fully undestand what i am saying and i would be happy to write more info if you need more

Answer:

Heat shouldnt effect any quality alarm. Your best best would be to inspect all the wiring for the alarm. If all the wiring checks out, you might need to send teh alarm module back for a warranty. If you had a Compustar alarm this wouldnt be a problem, they are warrantied for life. I should know, I am an authorized Dealer
Depends on how many miles is on it and the condition it is in.
