Question:

My dad has a severe paranoia of lightning. Do you think this is fair?

He will not allow anyone outside, even if it's just sprinkling. He makes us turn off all of the power in the house and unplug everything, staying away from all elecrtic appliances and even lights. And this is just when it's sprinkling. If you try to challenge him about it, he becomes very sensitive and controlling. Quite frankly I'm tired of this - I love the rain. Do you think he's going too far?

Answer:

The only other suggestion I'd have is do the math first. Figure out how much force it takes to crush the can once the side has been caved in, and how much torque the motor can produce, so that you know what your gear ratios need to be before you start building.
By not overpopulating the country the country cares for itself. Roads are maintained but not up to the standards cities mostly have them. In the past each country had that kind of population, or even a lower population and no country did ever sink into the ocean because of that. Iceland has little in the way of forests that can turn into a jungle, the rest of nature keeps in its place.
